Matt Driscoll has wasted no time in confirming his management team for the new season.
Pontypridd United coach Rhys Llewelyn will join the club as assistant coach. Rhys is a UEFA A license coach who Matt was keen to get on board and he was delighted to get him involved.
Matt had the following to say on Rhys’ appointment…
“Rhys joins us as assistant manager from Pontypridd United which is a massive positive. Rhys’ football knowledge is invaluable and which is why I worked hard to get him on board”
In what is great news for the club, Will Morford has confirmed that he will remain in the coaching team after positive talks with Matt as well.
“I’m really happy that Will is staying with Cinderford Town as first team coach. Everyone I talked to speaks very highly of Will and after my calls with him I can see why”
Rhys was delighted to join Matts management team and had the following to say about his appointment..
“Firstly, I’d like to thank Driscoll for giving me the opportunity and putting trust in my ability as a coach.
When he asked me to come in as his number 2 it was an easy decision for myself, the past 2 seasons at Pontypridd United have been great learning experiences at the top level in welsh football.
Using these experiences, in cohesion with Matthew’s knowledge and ability as a manager I believe it is an exciting time for Cinderford Town. The hard work has already started behind the scenes & I am very excited to get started. “
As a club we are delighted to keep Morf involved with the club and alongside Rhys will provide an incredibly high level of coaching.
Will was equally excited about the upcoming season.
“I am delighted to have accepted the opportunity to remain at the club and become part of the new management team with Matt and Rhys. Having spoken to Matt, it was clear he has a real drive to succeed and has already worked exceptionally hard behind the scenes. I feel it’s going to be an exciting time to be part of the club and I am looking forward to working with both Matt and Rhys over the coming season. “
