Cinderford Town can confirm that we will no longer have a place in the final of the Gloucestershire FA Senior Challenge Cup final against Bishop’s Cleeve.
Due to fielding an ineligible player in the semi-final fixture against Bristol Manor Farm we have been disqualified from the competition, with Bristol Manor Farm being reinstated and taking our place.
This would have been a great achievement for the club as this could have been a chance to bring home another trophy in two consecutive seasons. However, the mistake which involved an administrative error of an oversight regarding player eligibility, has led to our removal from the competition.
We would like to express our deepest apologises to the supporters and everyone involved at the club.
As well as this, we can also announce the resignation of Chair, Sara Legge who will be stepping down with immediate effect.
“I’m stepping down as chair due to personal reasons however will continue to support the club. I’ve enjoyed being the figurehead especially being a female chair and it has been a pleasure. I give the club my best wishes for their future.”
We would like to thank Sara for her hard work and dedication with the club and wish her all the best for the future.
