We are excited to announce the signing of 19-year-old defender Keon Sanniola from Forest Green Rovers who has joined the Foresters for the upcoming season as they look to strengthen their defensive lineup!
Sanniola, who has spent time in Forest Green’s youth setup, brings a wealth of promise and potential to Cinderford. The youngster has already demonstrated his ability to compete at a high level, making a mark in Forest Green’s youth teams and showcasing his development in the club’s academy, and featured once for the first team this season in a 4-2 win over Blackburn U21s in the National League Cup.
When asked what he can bring to the team, Sanniola stated: “I’m a hard worker off the ball and can contribute to our strong defence to allow us to focus on our attacking to go and win games.”
He went on to speak about making his debut for the Foresters on Tuesday night against Evesham, but despite an unfortunate result Sanniola made an impact instantly on the pitch:
“I really enjoyed my first game on Tuesday we didn’t get the best result but I’m happy to have started with a decent performance and ready to go and win some games.”
Town Manager, Matt Driscoll expressed his delight on the new signing and what he can bring to the team:
“Delighted to get Keon on board, having the opportunity to have someone of his quality join us is a massive boost this part of the season.
“His quality showed on Tuesday with a great debut for the club,” he said.
